
John Figlioli is the President and founder of Garrett Realty &
Development, Inc. John started Garrett Realty in 1991 in Lincoln Park
and since then has grown the firm into one of the largest independently
owned full service commercial real estate firms in Chicago.
Upon graduating from Western Illinois University in 1979 with a degree
in Finance, John was a National Account Manager for a large computer
company, coordinating the firm's office automation system sales to Fortune
500 accounts in the Midwest Region. Prior to forming Garrett Realty
& Development, Inc., John worked for a large Chicago real estate
broker/developer where he was involved in the acquisition and development
of commercial properties and was consistently their top commercial broker.
John resides in Winnetka with his wife Stephanie, who is a pediatric
physical therapist.. They are the proud parents of twins, Isabella and
Lucca and are involved in numerous charitable and community organizations.
John is a former Director of the Chicago Association of Realtors and
Chicago's Ronald McDonald House and is a current member of the Lincoln
Park Builders of Chicago.
Angie Bender has over 15 years of Commercial Real Estate experience
with large Real Estate Investment Trusts. In 1993, she started
her career with Hines Interests in Houston, Texas assisting tenants
with move-ins, maintenance requests and minor construction projects.
From there, she was hired as a Tenant Services Coordinator with Crescent
Real Estate where her major duties included accounts payable and receivable,
collections, cleaning and security supervision along with minor construction
supervision and maintenance requests. In 1999, Angie moved into
Lease Administration for Trizec Properties as a Lease Administrator
which involved abstracting all new leases, rent roll processing, inventory
reconciliations and lease activity reporting for approximately 17 million
square feet. After a major accounting centralization in 2001,
Angie was promoted to the newly created position of Accounting Manager
of Leasing and was relocated to Chicago where she spent 6 years in the
accounting department supervising lease input and activity reporting
for over 67 million square feet. She played an active role in
the company’s process improvement objectives and won various awards
for her participation in Building of the Year awards and many other
industry related awards.
Since January of 2005, Angie Bender has also been a student at Harrington
College of Design obtaining her Bachelors of Arts in Interior Design.
Angie was hired as Property Manager for Garrett Realty & Development
in November of 2007 to get back on the front lines and expand her property
management experience. She handles all tenant requests, cleaning,
and repairs and maintenance along with many building beautification
projects. Angie’s many years of customer service, accounting,
leasing and interior design experience makes her a great asset to this
organization
Chuck Chiponis has been an Industrial Real Estate Sales and Leasing
Consultant for the past 27 years. He has successfully brokered the sale
or leasing of numerous Industrial properties throughout the Chicagoland
area. Chuck's success comes as a result of working hard to understand
and satisfy his Clients/Customers real estate needs, his determination
to keep current on market conditions, and his attention to detail.
Chuck is a member of the Chicago Association of Realtors and has previously
been a member of the Commercial/Investment Committee as well as Chairman
of the Commercial/Investment Education Subcommittee.
Chuck resides in the city and is a volunteer at Children's Memorial
Hospital.
David Fulton is a Sales Associate with Garrett Realty & Development,
Inc. David graduated from the University of Notre Dame cum laude with
a B.A. in American Studies in 2002.
Upon graduating, David went to work for Guardian Life Insurance as
a Business Development Representative and honed his communication and
analysis skills through successfully marketing various insurance products
to corporate entities.
In 2005, David joined Garrett Realty & Development, Inc. as part
of its commercial sales and leasing team. The real estate profession
has allowed David to exercise and further enhance the skills he has
developed thus far in his career. He looks forward to a long and successful
career with Garrett Realty as a real estate professional and providing
exceptional service to clients.
David resides in Logan Square.
For over 11 years, Tom Gorsuch has been in commercial real estate sales
at Garrett Realty. His success began with winning "Rookie of the
Year" his first year with Garrett; today he is known as the "go-to"
guy in Chicago for bar and restaurant sales and acquisition. As a proprietor
in the bar and restaurant business in downtown Chicago for over 30 years,
Tom's first hand knowledge makes him the expert in the industry. He
is extremely hard working and knowledgeable in all aspects of commercial
real estate, but bars and restaurants are his forte. He prides himself
on effective communication and customer service, and is an active member
of the Chicago Association of Realtors. He also currently owns a few
bars in the city, and his long-term relationships in the business have
led him to success in real estate. Tom resides in the city and besides
his passion for real estate, he enjoys working out, biking, rollerblading,
and spending time with his family.
Amy L. O’Brien serves as a commercial real estate advisor for
Garrett Realty & Development, Inc., specializing in the sale of
commercial condominiums in addition to the sale and leasing of office
and retail property throughout Chicago, Illinois.
Ms. O’Brien joined Garrett Realty & Development, Inc. in
February 2002 as an administrative marketing assistant. Soon thereafter
she received her sales license and was awarded “Rookie of the
Year” in recognition of her outstanding effort and performance
in her first year with the company, successfully closing over thirty
transactions. Since then she has closed over 180 transactions.
Amy is an active member of the Lincoln Park Chamber of Commerce, Lincoln
Park Young Professionals and Young Office Broker’s Association.
O’Brien earned a bachelors degree in Marketing from the University
of Wisconsin – La Crosse in 2001. In duration she studied International
Marketing abroad at the University of North London
Tom Riggs is a Broker Associate with Garrett Realty & Development,
Inc. Tom graduated from the University of Illinois in Finance and earned
his MBA at the University of Chicago.
Upon graduation, Tom worked as a stock broker for E.F. Hutton &
Co. He left that position and obtained an Illinois brokers licence.
Tom worked as a small developer in the 1980's and 1990's. He was
involved in the development of an office building at 312 W. Randolph
in which Tom leased and managed the building for ten years.
Tom went to work for the Habitat Co. in the late 1990's.
Tom was the President of Superior Marketing, a Real Estate firm, for
five years. The firm sold over 500 condominium units worth in excess
of $100,000,000. Tom's involvement included locating land,
working with architects and developers and supervising sales centers.
Tom has now brought his business knowledge to Garrett Realty &
Development, Inc. to assist buyers and sellers in the acquisition and
leasing of commercial property.
David Schraufnagel has been with Garrett Realty & Development,
Inc. as a part of the Brokerage Services Team since early 2003. David’s
primary focus is on representing owners and tenants of commercial buildings
in office and retail transactions. Over the past five years, David has
successfully completed over 100 commercial transactions throughout the
Chicagoland area with some prominent organizations including Universal
Studios, Jane Addams Hull House, Annoyance Productions, 32nd Ward Aldermanic
Office, The University of Mexico, and Sam’s Wines and Spirits.
David has also played an integral role in the leasing and development
of 1901 N. Clybourn and 2211 N. Elston – 2 recent office/retail
developments on Chicago’s Northside.
Throughout his tenure at Garrett Realty & Development, Inc., David
has successfully closed a vast and complex array of commercial transactions
that have helped solidify his reputation as a premier broker in the
Chicagoland Area. His passion and dedication to the business are evident
through the continued loyalty of his clients.
David graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with
a B.B.A in Real Estate & Urban Land Economics and Management &
Human Resources. He currently resides in Old Town and is involved with
local real estate organizations including Young Real Estate Professionals
(YREP), the River North Association, the University of Wisconsin Real
Estate Alumni Association and Real Estate Investment Association (REIA).
A native of Chicago, John Stocco has sold and leased commercial real
estate in the city for the past 7 years. Focusing on industrial, investment
and office properties, John has been involved in over 10 million dollars
in transactions. Prior to joining Garrett Realty, John utilized his
Bachelors Degree in Advertising & Marketing working for a number
of firms and also owning his own graphic design company.
Chad Tepley recently joined Garrett Realty & Development and is
focused on providing clients with a full range of commercial brokerage
and advisory services including investment sales, buyer representation,
leasing and tenant representation.
Chad brings a comprehensive real estate background to Garrett Realty
& Development. Prior to joining the firm he worked in the Capital
Markets Group at Jones Lang LaSalle Americas where he handled investment
sales and advisory services for clients including General Motors, J.P.
Morgan Chase, Lubrizol Noveon and Bank of America. During his time at
Jones Lang LaSalle Chad successfully closed a wide range of transactions
including retail, office, land and industrial properties ranging from
$1 million to $20 million in locations throughout the United States.
As part of The Property Watch Group at Jones Lang LaSalle, Chad also
played an integral role in a number of multi-state property portfolio
sales valued in excess of $300 million. In addition to bringing extensive
transaction experience to Garrett Realty, Chad is highly proficient
in valuation analysis on investment and opportunistic commercial properties
of all types and sizes. Chad joined Garrett Realty & Development
to apply his corporate transactional expertise at a local, personalized
level and to continue building lasting client relationships in a highly
entrepreneurial environment.
Chad graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with
a B.B.A. in Real Estate and Urban Land Economics. He is actively involved
in local real estate organizations including the Urban Land Institute
(ULI), Real Estate Investment Association (REIA), Wisconsin Real Estate
Alumni Association (WREAA) and Young Real Estate Professionals (YREP).
In addition to his commercial real estate background, Chad has volunteered
and traveled internationally through over 40 countries and is working
towards fluency in speaking Spanish. His interests include local philanthropic
activities, golf, scuba diving, whitewater kayaking and the fine arts.
Scott A. Topper is a Broker Associate for Garrett Realty and Development,
Inc. His responsibilities include strategic planning, financial analysis
and site selection.
Scott graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor degree
in Psychology with a focus in Business. In duration, he studied International
Business and International Marketing abroad at the Institute of Italian
Studies in Florence. Prior to working at Garrett Realty, Scott worked
as a Business Analyst at Mervyn's LLC, a California based national retail
corporation. Mervyn's, a multibillion dollar company, operates more
than 250 stores nationwide each averaging 50,000 retail square feet.
While there, he developed partnerships with merchants and created financial
plans to develop and implement strategies to attain specific financial
goals. His successful management of various retail programs accumulated
annual sales of approximately $35 million in revenue. Since joining
the Garrett team, Scott has focused on directing his strong analytical
skills and his business knowledge to successfully guide buyers and sellers
through the acquisition and leasing process.
